Saturday regroom for likely the final day until more snow

We will regroom the two open trails first thing tomorrow morning, as they saw a lot of use today! It should be more firm for skate skiing, but we likely still won't be able to add any classic tracks as the snow depth is just too thin in too many spots. The best skiing will probably be earlier in the morning, as I expect the thin spots to start to melt out as the day warms up and the sun takes its toll. Rental reservations are open, and walk-in rentals will be available until 11:30ish.

The wind left variable snow-depths across the golf course last night, resulting in good snow accumulation in spots, but thinner (grassy) spots in others. If the weather wasn't going to get so warm this weekend, a few of our volunteers would be out shoveling snow to the thin spots to 'shore them up', for additional ski/grooming days, but given the fact that numerous sections of the trails will likely melt back to grass with the coming warming trend, unfortunately it isn't worth the time. I expect tomorrow will be the last chance we can safely groom the trails without damaging the underlying turf until we get more snow, and if we are able to be open Sunday morning, it would most likely be ungroomed, and probably just open for experienced skiers/season pass holders that are familar with the trails.

Hopefully we get a bunch more snow and some cooler weather in early March to finish out the season.
